This day at 6 p.m., the Honourable Charles Gonthier, in his capacity as Deputy of Her Excellency the Governor General, proceeded to the Chamber of the Senate, in the Parliament Buildings, and took his seat at the foot of the Throne. The Members of the Senate being assembled, the Deputy of Her Excellency the Governor General was pleased to command the attendance of the House of Commons, and that House being present, the following Bill was assented to in Her Majesty's name by the Deputy of Her Excellency the Governor General:

Registration of a Political Party
Notice is hereby given that the political party "Marijuana Party" with the following short-form name or abbreviation "Marijuana Party" has provided the information required under subsection 366(2) of the Canada Elections Act and is therefore eligible for registration under section 368 of the Act.
The registration of the party will take effect on the day the party has candidates confirmed in the required number of electoral districts (50) at the next general election.
