Whereas pursuant to section 15 of the Bank of Canada Act, the Board of Directors of the Bank has passed a by-law, By-Law 15, to establish a pension fund for the benefit of its eligible employees and their dependants;
And whereas the Bank has the authority to amend its by-laws;
And whereas certain amendments are required to reflect recent developments in the legislation applicable to the Bank of Canada Pension Plan;
It is hereby resolved that the Bank of Canada Pension Plan, By-Law 15 (the Plan) is hereby amended effective on the date of publication in the Canada Gazette by:
1. Deleting the definition of "spouse" from subsection 1.1 of the Plan and replacing it with the following:
(a) if there is no person described in subparagraph (b) a person who is party to a marriage, including a void marriage with the member, or
(b) a person who establishes to the satisfaction of the Administrator that at the relevant date such person is cohabiting with the member in a conjugal relationship having so cohabited with the member for at least one year;
2. Deleting "two" from the definition of "average YMPE" in subsection 1.1 and replacing it with "four";
3. Deleting "seventy one" from subparagraphs 3.2.1(a)(i) and 7.1.4(c) and paragraphs 5.2.1 and 6.2.1 and replacing it with "sixty-nine";
4. Deleting "1995" from subparagraphs 3.2.3(a)(i) and 9.3(c)(ii) and replacing it with "2004";
5. Deleting "1996" from subparagraphs 3.2.3(a)(i) and 9.3(c)(i) and replacing it with "2005";
6. Deleting "higher" in subparagraph 9.3(c) and replacing it with "other"; and
7. Adding "or former spouse" after "spouse" wherever it appears in paragraph 11.2.2 (except for the fourth such appearance) and paragraph 11.2.3.

APPLICATION TO EXPORT ELECTRICITY TO THE UNITED STATES
Notice is hereby given that, by an application dated November 10, 2000, NRG Power Marketing Inc. ("the Applicant") has applied to the National Energy Board ("the Board") under Division II of Part VI of the National Energy Board Act ("the Act") for authorization to export up to 1 000 megawatts of firm power, 1 250 megawatts of combined firm and interruptible power 2 000 gigawatt-hours of firm energy, and 1 000 gigawatt-hours of interruptible energy per year, for a period of ten years.
The Board wishes to obtain the views of interested parties on this application before issuing a permit or recommending to the Governor in Council that a public hearing be held. The Directions on Procedure that follow explain in detail the procedure that will be used.
1. The Applicant shall deposit and keep on file, for public inspection during normal business hours, copies of the application at its offices located at: NRG Power Marketing Inc., 901 Marquette Avenue, Suite 2300, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55402-3265 United States, (612) 313-8731 (Telephone), (612) 373-8686 (Facsimile). The Applicant will provide a copy of the application to any person who requests a copy. (ii) given an opportunity to purchase electricity on terms and conditions
as favourable as the terms and conditions specified in the application
to those who, within a reasonable time of being so informed, demonstrate
an intention to buy electricity for consumption in Canada.
4. Any answer to submissions that the Applicant wishes to present in response to items 2 and 3 of this Notice of Application and Directions on Procedure shall be filed with the Secretary of the Board and served on the party that filed the submission by January 2, 2001.
