PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT

Notice is hereby given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to section 5 (see footnote a) of the Hazardous Products Act, proposes to make the annexed Domestic Detectors Regulations.

Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Regulations within 75 days after the date of publication of this notice. DOMESTIC DETECTORS REGULATIONS

INTERPRETATION
Definition of "domestic detector" 1. In these Regulations, "domestic detector" means a fire alarm system that is used in a household and any of its components. It includes an audible signal device, a control unit, a smoke detector, a heat-actuated fire detector and a smoke alarm.

 

REQUIREMENTS
Authorization 2. A person may advertise, sell or import a domestic detector set out in column 1 of the table if the detector complies with the standard set out in column 2.
