Regulations Amending the Consular Services Fees Regulations

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Treasury Board, pursuant to section 10.1(see footnote a) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Act(see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Consular Services Fees Regulations.

REGULATIONS AMENDING THE CONSULAR SERVICES FEES REGULATIONS

AMENDMENT

1. Section 4 of the Consular Services Fees Regulations(see footnote 1) is replaced by the following:

4. The fee to be paid by a person of at least 16 years of age who requests the issuance of a travel document is $25.00 and must be paid at the time the application for the travel document is made.

TRANSITIONAL

2. Section 4 of the Regulations, as it read immediately before the coming into force of these Regulations, continues to apply in respect of an application to a passport issuing office for a travel document that is

(a) made in person before that coming into force; or

(b) sent by mail or courier

(i) before that coming into force, or
(ii) within five days after that coming into force if the application is accompanied by the fee referred to in that section.

COMING INTO FORCE

3. These Regulations come into force on December 11, 2001.
