Whereas, pursuant to subsection 41(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, the Public Service Commission has decided that it is neither practicable nor in the best interests of the Public Service to apply that Act, with the exception of sections 32, 33 and 34, to Paul Michael Boothe on his appointment to the position of Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, and while employed in that position, and has excluded Paul Michael Boothe from the operation of that Act, with the exception of sections 32, 33 and 34, on his appointment to the position of Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, and while employed in that position;
And whereas, pursuant to subsection 37(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, the Public Service Commission recommends that the Governor in Council make the annexed Special Appointment Regulations, No. 2004-7;
Therefore, Her Excellency the Governor General in Council,
(a) on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to subsection 41(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby approves the exclusion made by the Public Service Commission of Paul Michael Boothe from the operation of that Act, with the exception of sections 32, 33 and 34, on his appointment to the position of Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, and while employed in that position;
(b) on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and the Public Service Commission, pursuant to subsection 37(1) of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby makes the annexed Special Appointment Regulations, No. 2004-7.
SPECIAL APPOINTMENT REGULATIONS, NO. 2004-7
GENERAL
1. The Governor in Council may appoint Paul Michael Boothe to the position of Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, to hold office during pleasure.
COMING INTO FORCE
2. These Regulations come into force on June 1, 2004.
