Maison Accueil-Sagesse Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act, hereby remits to Maison Accueil-Sagesse the amount of $6,996.10 being tax paid under Division II of Part IX of the Excise Tax Act in respect of catering services provided to a health care facility during the period beginning on November 24, 1993 and ending on March 31, 1996.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order remits $6,996.10 to Maison Accueil-Sagesse, representing the goods and services tax (GST) paid in respect of exempt catering services provided to a health care facility during the period in question. The remission is granted as a result of incorrect action on the part of Revenue Canada officials.
