Subject: 2008-2009 Service Commitment

Dear Clients,

The Canada Gazette Directorate is proud once again this year to count you among its clients. Although the Directorate’s mandate is to produce, publish and distribute Canada Gazette Part I, Part II and Part III, our main objective continues to be providing you with timely and courteous service.

Given that a new fiscal year is upon us, we would like to reaffirm our commitment to the highest standards of quality service:

  • Meeting all deadlines established under the Statutory Instruments Regulations;
  • Maintaining an error count of less than 1%;
  • Maintaining a client satisfaction rating of 85% or higher; and
  • Providing quality service in both official languages.

During the 2008-2009 fiscal year, the Canada Gazette Directorate will be making the following services available to you:

  • RSS News Feeds – Since April 1, 2008

    The Canada Gazette Directorate has launched RSS News Feeds to share the contents of Part I. You are able to subscribe to the feeds free of charge and use this technology to receive recent notices posted on the Canada Gazette Web site.

  • Web site – December 31, 2008

    The new Canada Gazette Web site will be developed in accordance with the Common Look and Feel Standards for the Internet 2.0 approved by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. This will facilitate navigation and information sharing.

  • Archives

    In collaboration with Library and Archives Canada, the Canada Gazette Directorate will digitize all publications dating from 1841 to 1997. The objective is to make these publications more accessible to the public via the Web. Given the high number of publications, the work will be spread out over the year. Stay tuned to our Web site for more details on this project.

On April 1, 2008, Public Works and Government Services Canada implemented a financial management and materiel management system called SIGMA. This change will lead to delays in our administrative activities for a brief period. Rest assured that we will do everything in our power to minimize delays in processing invoices or requests for insertion. Thank you for your understanding.
