PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT

Notice is hereby given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to section 5 (see footnote a) of the Hazardous Products Act (see footnote b), proposes to make the annexed Regulations Amending the Hazardous Products (Toys) Regulations.

Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Regulations within 75 days after the date of publication of this notice. REGULATIONS AMENDING THE HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS (TOYS) REGULATIONS

AMENDMENT

1. Subsection 12(2) of the Hazardous Products (Toys) Regulations (see footnote 1) is replaced by the following:

(2) A substance, other than a heavy metal, a compound of a heavy metal, a substance set out in item 8 or 9 of Part I of Schedule I to the Act or a phthalate referred to in the Phthalates Regulations, may, subject to sections 10 and 11, be present in a plastic material referred to in subsection (1) in the amount of one per cent or less.

COMING INTO FORCE

2. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
