However, comments will be considered only if they are in writing, are received not later than 30 days after the date of publication of this notice and are related to the effects of this work on marine navigation. ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with sections 254 and 587.1 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), Swiss Re Life & Health Canada (“SRLHC”) and Swiss Reinsurance Company Ltd (“SRZ”) intend to make an application to the Minister of Finance (Canada) on or after October 27, 2009, for the Minister’s approval for SRZ to reinsure on an assumption basis, all of the life, annuity, and accident and sickness risks undertaken by SRLHC (the “risks”), including all present and future obligations under such risks, with an effective date of January 1, 2010.
A copy of the assumption reinsurance agreement and the independent actuary report relating to this transaction will be available for inspection during regular business hours at the Canadian head office of SRLHC and SRZ, both located at 150 King Street W, Suite 1000, Toronto, Ontario M5H 1J9, for a 30-day period after the date of publication of this notice.
