PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT

Notice is given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to subsections 151(2) and (3) of the Cannabis Act footnote a, proposes to make the annexed Order Amending Schedules 3 and 4 to the Cannabis Act.

Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Order within 60 days after the date of publication of this notice. All such representations must cite the Canada Gazette, Part I, and the date of publication of this notice, and be addressed to Eric Costen, Director General, Strategic Policy, Cannabis Legalization and Regulation Branch, Address locator: 0302B, Health Canada, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0K9 (email: cannabis@canada.ca).

Order Amending Schedules 3 and 4 to the Cannabis Act

Amendments

1 (1) Item 5, column 1, of Schedule 3 to the Cannabis Act footnote 1 is amended by deleting "cannabis solid concentrates" and adding "cannabis concentrates".

(2) Item 6 of Schedule 3 to the Act is amended by deleting "cannabis non-solid concentrates" in column 1 and the equivalent quantity in column 2 that relates to that class of cannabis.

2 (1) Item 2 of Schedule 4 to the Act is amended by deleting "cannabis oil".

(2) Item 6 of Schedule 4 to the Act is amended by deleting "edibles containing cannabis" and adding "edible cannabis".

(3) Item 7 of Schedule 4 to the Act is amended by deleting "cannabis concentrates" and adding "cannabis extracts".

(4) Schedule 4 to the Act is amended by adding the following after item 7:

Coming into Force

Regulations Amending the Cannabis Regulations

3 (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Order comes into force on the day on which the provisions of the Regulations Amending the Cannabis Regulations (New Classes of Cannabis), other than subsection 1(2) of those Regulations, come into force.

Six months later

(2) Subsection 2(1) comes into force on the day that, in the sixth month after the month in which the other provisions of this Order come into force, has the same calendar number as the day on which those provisions come into force or, if there is no day in that month with that number, on the last day of that month.
