APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A CANADIAN BRANCH

Notice is hereby given that Hudson Insurance Company, an entity incorporated and organized under the laws of Delaware, United States of America, which principally carries on business in the continental United States, intends to file, under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after May 25, 2019, an application for an order approving the insuring in Canada of risks, under the English name Hudson Insurance Company and the French name Compagnie d’Assurance Hudson. Hudson Insurance Company is a property and casualty insurance company and intends to insure property, casualty and surety risks in Canada. The head office of the company is located in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, and its Canadian chief agency will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

RELEASE OF ASSETS

Pursuant to section 651 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) [the “Act”], notice is hereby given that T.H.E. Insurance Company, carrying on business as a branch in Canada under the same name, intends to apply to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), on or after June 10, 2019, for an order authorizing the release of the assets that it maintains in Canada in accordance with the Act.

Any policyholder or creditor in respect of T.H.E. Insurance Company’s insurance business in Canada opposing such release is invited to file an opposition by mail to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), Regulatory Affairs Division, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, or by email at approvalsandprecedents@osfi-bsif.gc.ca, on or before June 10, 2019.
