The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has received a complaint (File No. PR-2020-050) from 1091847 Ontario Ltd., of Ottawa, Ontario, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. BPM006751/Event 21) made by Shared Services Canada (SSC). The solicitation was for Vound Colorado Ltd. cyber security goods and services. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal made a decision on October 6, 2020, to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

1091847 Ontario Ltd. alleges that the procurement was conducted improperly, that the request for proposal included restrictive specifications, that SSC did not grant it access to necessary technical information and failed to publish and value the procurement.

INQUIRY

Seismographic instruments

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has received a complaint (File No. PR-2020-042) from Weir-Jones Engineering Ltd. (Weir-Jones), of Vancouver, British Columbia, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. 23240-200912/B) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC) on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources. The solicitation is for an earthquake early warning system. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal made a decision on October 2, 2020, to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

Weir-Jones alleges that the terms of the solicitation encourage other bidders to infringe or circumvent its intellectual property.
