Pierre Dupuis Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the tax is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act, hereby remits tax under Part I of the Income Tax Act in the amount of $889.24 for the 1997 taxation year, and a penalty of $62.24 for the 1997 taxation year, and all relevant interest thereon, paid or payable by Pierre Dupuis.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order remits a portion of the income tax and penalty, and all relevant interest thereon, paid or payable by Pierre Dupuis in respect of the 1997 taxation year.

The amounts remitted represent the additional tax and penalty that are the result of circumstances beyond the control of Mr. Dupuis, and the payment of these amounts would cause him a significant financial setback.
