Certain Fees Relating to Feeder Cattle Imported from the United States Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of certain fees relating to services provided with respect to feeder cattle imported from the United States is unreasonable and unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Certain Fees Relating to Feeder Cattle Imported from the United States Remission Order.
CERTAIN FEES RELATING TO FEEDER CATTLE IMPORTED FROM THE UNITED STATES REMISSION ORDER
REMISSION
1. Subject to the condition set out in section 2, remission is granted, to the person who paid the fees or by whom the fees are payable, of the fees that are paid or payable under paragraph 15(a) of the table to Part 11 of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Fees Notice, that relate to services provided with respect to feeder cattle imported from the United States.
CONDITION
2. The remission is granted on the condition that the person who paid the fees or by whom the fees are payable received an invoice for the fees from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued during the period beginning on April 1, 2007 and ending on March 31, 2008.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order grants remission of fees paid or payable, for an amount estimated at $100 000, for which an invoice was issued during the period beginning on April 1, 2007 and ending on March 31, 2008 with respect to services provided with respect to feeder cattle imported from the United States.
