Certain Fees Relating to Registered Establishments Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Certain Fees Relating to Registered Establishments Remission Order.
CERTAIN FEES RELATING TO REGISTERED ESTABLISHMENTS REMISSION ORDER
REMISSION
1. Subject to the condition set out in section 2, remission is granted, to the person who paid the fees or by whom the fees are payable, of fees paid or payable under Part 10 of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency Fees Notice, that relate to services provided in establishments, registered under the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990, with respect to food animals other than poultry, but including emus, ostriches and rheas.
CONDITION
2. The remission is granted on the condition that the person who paid the fees or by whom the fees are payable received an invoice for the fees from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued during the period beginning on April 1, 2007 and ending on March 31, 2008.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order grants remission of fees paid or payable, for an amount estimated at $2.8 million, for which an invoice was issued during the period beginning on April 1, 2007, and ending on March 31, 2008, with respect to services provided in establishments registered under the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.
