Eugene Skripkariuk Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the tax is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits tax in the amount of $3,332.42, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by Eugene Skripkariuk for the 2003 taxation year.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order remits a portion of the income tax, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable by Eugene Skripkariuk for the 2003 taxation year.

The amount remitted represents the amount of tax that is the result of an error committed by Mr. Skripkariuk when filing his 2003 income tax return that would have been detected by the Canada Revenue Agency if proper procedures had been followed. The payment of that amount would cause significant financial hardship for Mr. Skripkariuk.
