Catherine Bland Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the tax is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits tax in the amount of $527.91, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable by Catherine Bland, for the 1990 taxation year, under Part I of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order remits a portion of the income tax in respect of the 1990 taxation year, and all relevant interest on it paid or payable by Catherine Bland.

Ms. Bland was unable to address her income tax debt for the 1990 taxation year due to financial difficulties. Interest charges have increased the debt to a level where paying it would cause extreme hardship for Ms. Bland.
