Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development and the Treasury Board, pursuant to subsection 23(2.1) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits to fishers the amount of any overpayment of employment insurance benefits paid or payable to them as a result of the use of, in the calculation of that amount, a level of maximum insurable earnings in excess of the maximum weekly insurable earnings of $750 set out under paragraph 8(13)(b) of the Employment Insurance (Fishing) Regulations (see footnote c) during the period beginning on January 1, 2007 and ending on March 28, 2009.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order remits the amount of any overpayment of employment insurance benefits paid or payable to fishers as a result of the use of, in the calculation of that amount, a level of maximum insurable earnings in excess of the maximum weekly insurable earnings of $ 750 set out under paragraph 8(13)(b) of the Employment Insurance (Fishing) Regulations during the period beginning on January 1, 2007 and ending on March 28, 2009.
