BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION ACT, 2008

Order Fixing August 1, 2009 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Section 104 of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, pursuant to section 115 of the Budget Implementation Act, 2008, chapter 28 of the Statutes of Canada, 2008, hereby fixes August 1, 2009 as the day on which section 104 of that Act comes into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Section 104 of the Budget Implementation Act, 2008 amends the Canada Student Financial Assistance Act to allow part-time students to defer their student loan payments for as long as they continue to be students and to provide, by regulation, for other circumstances in which student loan payments may be deferred.
