Order Fixing July 13, 2009 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Section 297 of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 299 of the Budget Implementation Act, 2009, chapter 2 of the Statutes of Canada, 2009, hereby fixes July 13, 2009 as the day on which section 297 of that Act comes into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Order fixes July 13, 2009 as the day on which the Canadian Securities Regulation Regime Transition Office Act comes into force. The Act establishes a Transition Office that will assist in the establishment of a Canadian regulatory authority with willing provinces and territories over a three-year period.
