Residential Detectors Regulations

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, pursuant to section 5 (see footnote a) of the Hazardous Products Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Residential Detectors Regulations.

RESIDENTIAL DETECTORS REGULATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

Residential detectors

1. A person may advertise, sell or import a residential detector set out in column 1 of the table to this section if it complies with the standard set out in column 2, without regard to any other standard to which it refers.

Components

2. A person may advertise, sell or import a component of a residential fire alarm system set out in column 1 of the table to this section if it complies with the standard set out in column 2, without regard to any other standard to which it refers.

3. The information required under these Regulations to be provided on the label of a residential detector or in instructions intended for consumers must be shown in English and in French.

COMING INTO FORCE

Registration

4. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
