AN ACT TO AMEND THE LAW GOVERNING FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND TO PROVIDE FOR RELATED AND CONSEQUENTIAL MATTERS

Order Fixing March 1, 2010 as the Date of the Coming Into Force of Certain Sections of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 452 of An Act to amend the law governing financial institutions and to provide for related and consequential matters (“the Act”), chapter 6 of the Statutes of Canada, 2007, hereby fixes March 1, 2010 as the day on which subsections 422(1) to (4) of the Act, subsection 4(3) of the Canadian Payments Act, as enacted by section 423 of the Act, sections 427 and 428, subsections 429(3) and 430(2) and (3) and section 431 of the Act come into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order fixes March 1, 2010 as the day on which certain provisions of An Act to amend the law governing financial institutions and to provide for related and consequential matters come into force. Those provisions amend the Canadian Payments Act.
