Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of certain contributions, premiums and penalties is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Triangle Services Ltd. Remission Order.
TRIANGLE SERVICES LTD. REMISSION ORDER
1. Remission is hereby granted to Triangle Services Ltd. of the following amounts:
(a) Canada Pension Plan contributions paid or payable under Part I of the Canada Pension Plan by Triangle Services Ltd. in the amounts of $3,197.72, $1,687.96 and $1,008.74, and all relevant interest on those amounts, for the 2000, 2001 and 2003 years, respectively;
(b) employment insurance premiums paid or payable under Part IV of the Employment Insurance Act by Triangle Services Ltd. in the amounts of $1,198.05 and $567.81, and all relevant interest on those amounts, for the 2001 and 2003 years, respectively; and
(c) penalties paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act by Triangle Services Ltd. in the amounts of $669.36, $288.60 and $107.65, and all relevant interest on those amounts, for the 2000, 2001 and 2003 taxation years, respectively.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order remits to Triangle Services Ltd. Canada Pension Plan contributions, employment insurance premiums, penalties under Part I of the Income Tax Act, and all relevant interest accrued on those amounts, paid or payable by Triangle Services Ltd. for the 2000, 2001 and 2003 years.
The total amount remitted represents the amounts paid or payable by Triangle Services Ltd. as a result of incorrect action on the part of Canada Revenue Agency officials.
