Certain Recreational Camps Remission Order

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that it is in the public interest to do so, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Certain Recreational Camps Remission Order.

CERTAIN RECREATIONAL CAMPS REMISSION ORDER

REMISSION

1. Subject to section 2, remission is granted to the recreational camps set out in column 1 of the schedule of the amounts set out in column 2, which are taxes payable plus, if applicable, related penalties and interest under Part IX of the Excise Tax Act.

CONDITION

2. The remission is granted on the condition that the amount payable has not been otherwise rebated, credited or remitted under the Excise Tax Act or the Financial Administration Act.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order remits $319,354.50 to the recreational camps listed in the schedule. The amount represents goods and services tax (GST)/harmonized sales tax (HST) collectible plus related penalties and interest in respect of recreational camp fees for the period beginning on September 16, 1998 and ending on December 18, 2006.
