BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION ACT, 2009

Order Fixing November 1, 2010 as the Date of the Coming into Force of Subsection 245(7) of the Act

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to subsection 259(1) of the Budget Implementation Act, 2009, chapter 2 of the Statutes of Canada, 2009, hereby fixes November 1, 2010 as the day on which subsection 245(7) of that Act comes into force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order.)

The Order fixes November 1, 2010 as the day on which subsection 245(7) of the Budget Implementation Act, 2009, chapter 2 of the Statutes of Canada, 2009, comes into force. That provision amends section 39.15 of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Act (“the Act”) by adding a subsection (7.1) that, if an order directing the incorporation of a bridge institution is made, provides when the actions referred to in subsection 39.15(7) of the Act may not be taken.
