HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS ACT

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, pursuant to section 5 (see footnote a) of the Hazardous Products Act (see footnote b), hereby makes the annexed Regulations Amending the Hazardous Products (Toys) Regulations.
REGULATIONS AMENDING THE HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS (TOYS) REGULATIONS
1. Subsection 12(2) of the Hazardous Products (Toys) Regulations (see footnote 1) is replaced by the following:
(2) A substance, other than a heavy metal, a compound of a heavy metal, a substance set out in item 8 or 9 of Part I of Schedule I to the Act or a phthalate within the meaning of the Phthalates Regulations, may, subject to sections 10 and 11, be present in a plastic material referred to in subsection (1) in the amount of 1 % or less.
COMING INTO FORCE
2. These Regulations come into force on the day on which they are registered.
