FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION ACT
ARCHIVED — Susan Gill Remission Order
P.C. 2011-279 March 3, 2011
His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the interest is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits interest in the amount of $12,592.51, paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by Susan Gill for the 1982, 1983 and 1984 taxation years, having accrued during the period beginning on January 1, 1987 and ending on December 31, 2000, and all relevant interest on it.
(This note is not part of the Order.)
The Order remits a portion of the interest, and all relevant interest on it, paid or payable by Susan Gill for the 1982, 1983 and 1984 taxation years.
The interest accrued in part due to circumstances beyond her control and would create a significant financial setback for Ms. Gill. The payment of this amount would produce an inequitable result for Ms. Gill.
