ARCHIVED — Micheline Poulin Remission Order

P.C. 2011-845 July 29, 2011

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, considering that the collection of the interest and penalty is unjust, on the recommendation of the Minister of National Revenue, pursuant to subsection 23(2) (see footnote a) of the Financial Administration Act (see footnote b), hereby remits all interest — calculated as of December 20, 2010 to be in the amount of $4,657.34 — and a penalty in the amount of $106.98, paid or payable under Part I of the Income Tax Act (see footnote c) by Micheline Poulin for the 1987 taxation year, and all relevant interest on that interest and penalty.

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order remits interest and penalties, and all relevant interest paid or payable thereon, by Micheline Poulin in respect of the 1987 taxation year.

The amount remitted represents interest and penalties incurred by Ms. Poulin as a result of circumstances that were not within her control. The payment of these amounts would cause a significant financial setback for Ms. Poulin.
